Het is een Engelse soort tekst over dat mensen continue aan het proberen zijn. We willen allemaal beter zijn dan de ander, populairder zijn dan de ander, meer likes, meer vrienden, betere cijfers. Terwijl we elkaar alleen maar naar beneden halen daarmee en we gewoon moeten proberen te stoppen met proberen. Want het moment dat we niet meer proberen om beter en leuker te zijn, we allemaal op de eerste plek zullen staan.
Who is the best?
People are always trying.
Trying to be the best.
Or at least, trying to be better then the person next to you.
People always want to have the most,
Or be the most popular in school.
People always want to have the most likes on facebook,
The most followers on instagram.
Why is that?
Why do we always want the crown?
Why do we always want to win?
Life isn’t about winning.
Or is it?
Everting we do turns out to be about winning.
Who will be the best?
We all know the social ladder.
You don’t wanna be on the last steps.
You don’t wanna be an easy target,
A nerd,
A loser.
People want to be the best and they will do anything for it.
They even will bring others down,
And fight,
Just to get their own crown.
And when they have the crown,
They won’t even share it.
Cause that is who we are.
People, selfish humans.
And we can’t blame each other.
Cause deep inside we all want the same.
We all want to be the best,
The most popular,
The person with the crown.
We all want to be on top of the social ladder.
So, people are always trying to be the best,
Even if we need to put others down.
People are always playing for themselves,
And we really need to change that.
Maybe it’s now time to step up.
To stop trying,
Trying to be the best.
To stop trying to be better then the person next to you.
To stop always wanting the most,
Or being the most popular.
To finally forget about the social ladder,
Cause we are all beautiful people and we are all worth the same.
Maybe it’s time to share the crown with everyone.
Even the people labeled as nerds and losers.
Time to stop brining others down,
To stop fighting,
And to stop being selfish.
I am sure we can do this,
If we work all together.
Not against each other,
But all part of the same team.
Because that moment when we all stop trying,
Everyone will be the best.
